Can God really use me?? Surely not…. I’m not equipped to do God’s work, someone else should do it, they would do a much better job than I would. ABSOLUTE rubbish!! I’m guilty of thinking like this sometimes but it’s complete nonsense. When God calls us to do great things for him, he gives us all that we need so that we can do it! We can’t do it ourselves and shouldn’t have to because we’d do a terrible job if we did.

God equips the called, he doesn’t call the equipped.

Let’s face it. The bible is jammed packed full of people who were complete nutters. You probably know some big stars of the bible… Jonah? Well he ran away from God. Zacchaeus? He was super small. Jacob? He was a liar. The disciples? They fell asleep while praying! Martha? She worried about everything. David? He was an adulterous murder…. and Lazarus?? Well, HE WAS DEAD! But God still used them to change the world and my goodness hasn’t the bible changed yours?? All of these people are most certainly NOT perfect but I’ll tell you one thing… they all have Jesus.

‘But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.’ - 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

It’s in our weakness that God is made strong. We are stronger when we are at our weakest. Why?! Because it is then that we can allow the Holy spirit to work most through us. Treasure your weaknesses, they are part of who you are AND they give you the chance to see God show up in your life in the most incredible ways that only he can. We ourselves may not have the skills to do what God has called us to but when we trust him and put our faith in him it is at that point we see Jesus really working within us!

It can be so hard at times to step out into the unknown, to make changes in our day to day lives and do things that we may not understand why we are being called to. But as humans, we often miss out on the big picture and as a result struggle to understand why God has called us to do things and go places. God Knows. He has this amazing plan that he’s already set in place for our lives and he will give us all that we need so that we can do it! We can play our part in this by getting to know God. Begin to understand how he works and ways in which he can speak to us. By diving into God’s word and looking at how Jesus lived, ways that God revealed himself to the people, we can relate it to our lives and search for God as he begins unravel to the plans he has and things he will give us in order to be able to complete them for his glory.

SANCTUS REAL - CONFIDENCE

God uses the Ordinary to do the Extraordinary

Living in the world that we do and at the time we do, we naturally want to fit in with the rest of society, blend in with the latest trends and try not to stick out like a sore thumb! Easier said than done right?! It’s hard to be ordinary and like everyone else especially when God made you in such a unique and precise way. He made every part of you exactly the way that he wanted to and being made in the image of the universe’s creator is pretty extraordinary right?! In God’s eyes no one is ordinary.

You are Extraordinary.

Let’s have a quick look at the 12 disciples. Just a dozen of young men who were selfish, lacking faith and trust. They got so many things wrong just like you and I would. But God empowered them; they were transformed by the Holy spirit. Because of the power of Jesus, God worked through these ordinary men and saved the world! A lot of people also forget that the disciples weren’t even that old they were probably the same age as you during the stories of the bible. You guys, A2Jers, God can use you just as he did John and Paul and Matthew, just because you’re young doesn’t mean you’re less extraordinary!

“Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” - Matthew 6:34

I am definitely guilty of this. It is so hard not to worry about the future and built up thoughts of anxiety and ‘what if’, what if this is not God’s plan for me after all, what if it means I lose everything else. It is hard not to worry, we’re human it’s in our nature. But once you stop focusing on the what ifs and start set our eyes on this steadfast truth everything will fall into place. Focus on the now, what is God doing in your life right now? How is he using you to reach out to the lost, how is he challenging you in your faith, to step out and do something extraordinary? God supplies our every need.

So if you wake up one morning feeling ordinary, nothing special, be encouraged. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the doubts and fears in this world and despite how hard you may be trying to do something great for God, just give it a rest. BE STILL, have faith and thank Jesus for what he’s already given you. Spend time in his presence, open your bible and read, open your heart and let God in. Then watch how Jesus does extraordinary things in you and through you!

God is using you right now. In ways you may not see. Whether you’re on your phone about to send someone a message or praying for people behind closed doors. God is using you and he will continue to do so. Remember how much he loves you. He’s not going to put you in situations that you can’t handle on your own. He is in complete and utter control.

You are a warrior

Bless you guys,

Georgie x
